Oxford High School
“This year has all been really positive so far in that the reception from teachers has been great. Being in a position like this really shows you where the needs are.”
Brian Harvey moved this year from being head baseball coach to being assistant principal. Harvey had been the baseball coach for seven consecutive years, finishing out his last year with a state championship. He hopes to be a positive influence on students. According to Harvey, now his influence may be more indirect in that he would help the teachers who would then in turn help the students. "Mr. Harvey has been a positive influence this year because he has a vested interest in Oxford High School. He has a sort of loyalty to OHS that keeps him here," Principal Bill Hovious said. Some changes Harvey is trying to work on are making sure the cafeteria runs smoother, staying on top of attendance and making sure that teachers have what they need to teach in order to make school and the workplace a more pleasant environment. Hovious said Harvey is also working on are textbooks, dealing with technology in the school, duty rosters, tech prep plans and making the lunch schedule.
