On the girls’ success: “I am extremely proud of our girls. They have really worked hard in the weight room and the results are showing. I am really proud of our seniors that competed. Itati Mundo, Ty McKay, Zaakelyia Lockhart, Khadijah Alford, Haleigh Giles, and Gabby Gipson. These girls have pushed themselves for four years and they have laid the building blocks of the program we have today.” –Coach Russell.
On Both Teams’ success: “This has been a very exiting year for both the boys team and girls team. The girls runner-up finish is our best ever and it is exciting to see our continued improvement. The guys winning the North Half was great. Those guys have worked so hard and have gotten so strong. We are taking 13 Oxford Powerlifters to the state meet in Jackson. That is by far the most ever. It is truly a testament to the hard work of our kids.” –Coach Russell
