Oxford High School
“I am so honored and humbled to be recognized as employee of the week by the staff at OHS. I am truly grateful to be a part of and to serve our community of students and teachers. Thank you to everyone who loves and supports our students.”
The Oxford School District is proud to recognize Oxford High School nurse Meg Hayden as our Employee of the Week. Nurse Hayden helps make our district a great place to work and learn.
Here’s what Oxford High School has to say about Nurse Hayden:
“Meg is a great source of support for our students. For many, she is a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen.”
“Nursey Hayden goes above and beyond her responsibilities as school and district head nurse. She displays a level of work ethic and compassion that is rare. She includes all students showing them love and respect and promoting their wellness; this is seen in her regular interactions with students, but also in her dedication to leading mindfulness activities with the students at OLC. As a teacher, I am so thankful to have her as a resource for my students and feel so confident in her abilities.”
“Nurse Hayden always has an open door for students. She is supportive of a very diverse student and faculty population. She ensures the physical and emotional well being of all who come to her office by providing needed medication, a listening ear, positive encouragement, or just a peppermint and a quiet place to rest.”
“Meg is an awesome support to students and staff. In addition to health services, she is a compassionate listener and educator.”
“Meg works hard to provide the students at OHS with care. Her work with RISE is amazing. She’s organized a safe space in the library for kids to come and a weekly yoga session for students. I know she works with OLC kids too doing meditation.”
“Every person in this building runs through Nurse Hayden’s office and she knows them all by name, dispensing bandaids, aspirin, advice or hugs. She loves what she does and she loves her people. And in turn, her people love her.”
“Meg works well beyond what her contracted obligations are. She sees students and helps them many times beyond just medicinal purposes, but on a wholistic level. She’s a counselor, a confidant, and many things that teachers don’t always have the opportunities to witness. She’s the person behind the scenes to make sure these students are taken care of.”
“She works very well with all students and makes them feel completely comfortable coming to her concerning any issue. She’s also incredibly passionate about teaching students to be better versions of themselves.”
Congratulations, Nurse Hayden! You’re a great representative of the #ChargerNation.
