RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION

WHEREAS, Oxford Elementary School has been named a National ESEA Distinguished School. Oxford Elementary School is one of 100 schools throughout the country that is being nationally recognized for exceptional student achievement in 2019; and

WHEREAS, the National ESEA Distinguished Schools Program publicly recognizes qualifying federally funded schools for the outstanding academic achievements of their students; and

WHEREAS, have successfully used their ESEA federal funds to improve the education for all students–including economically disadvantaged students; and

WHEREAS, Oxford Elementary is being recognized for the significant work in three areas: Exceptional student performance and academic growth for two consecutive years, Closing the achievement gap between student groups for two or more consecutive years, Excellence in serving special populations of students (e.g. homeless, migrant, English learners, etc.); and

WHEREAS, we, as members of the Oxford School District Board of Trustees wish to extend our appreciation to the leadership and staff of Oxford Elementary School for their dedication for improving education for all students; and
