Khan Academy is a free resource for anyone to use.  Teachers can create classes where students can learn a variety of subject matter in a self-paced manner.  Khan is known for its resources for math and science, but go beyond this; they have partnered with institutions such as MIT, the Museum of Modern Art, and NASA for specialized content (AASL).
