Oxford School District recognizes 2024-2025 Teachers of the Year

Oxford, Mississippi (November 22, 2024) — The Oxford School District is excited to recognize our 2024-2025 Teachers of the Year. Each school in the district selected its own Teacher of the Year, and from these seven teachers, one district Teacher of the Year will be announced.
Congratulations to the following teachers for this outstanding recognition. The Oxford School District is so thankful for each of them and their dedication to our students and school community.
Erica Oliver – Oxford Early Childhood Center
Erica Oliver, Pre-K teacher at Oxford Early Childhood Center has worked in education for 27 years. Mrs. Oliver has been with the Oxford School District since 2013. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Radford University.
LaToya Dudley – Bramlett Elementary School
LaToya Dudley, 1st Grade teacher at Bramlett Elementary School has been with the Oxford School District since 2018 and has been working in education for 17 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi.
Valarie Buford – Della Davidson Elementary School
Valerie Buford, 3rd Grade Math and Science Teacher at Della Davidson Elementary School has been with the Oxford School District since 2015. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Mississippi and a Master’s of Education from the University of Mississippi.
Keeley Asmus – Central Elementary School
Keeley Asmus, 4th Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at Central Elementary School has been with the Oxford School District since 2019 and has been in education for 18 years. Mrs. Asmus holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Memphis. She is a National Board Certified Teacher.
Anne Fisher Cole – Oxford Intermediate School
Anne Fisher Cole, 6th Grade English Language Arts Teacher at Oxford Intermediate School has been with the Oxford School District since 2019 and working in education since 2013. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of the South: Sewanee and a Master’s of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from Carson-Newman University.
Karen Elliot – Oxford Middle School
Karen Elliot, Librarian at Oxford Middle School has been with the Oxford School District for 17 years and has worked in education for 32 years. Mrs. Elliot holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Mississippi, Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of North Dakota, and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Mississippi. Mrs. Elliot is a National Board Certified teacher.
Tuesday Arizaga – Oxford High School
Tuesday Arizaga, English Learners (EL) Teacher at Oxford High School has been in education for 19 years. Mrs. Arizaga has been with the Oxford School District since 2006. She holds an Associate's degree from Northwest Mississippi Community College, and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in history from the University of Mississippi.
