Oxford High School has been named to Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll
Oxford, Mississippi (November 8, 2024) — College Board recently announced that Oxford High School has been named to the Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning a BRONZE distinction – an honor only given to four public schools in the state of Mississippi. The additional three public schools in Mississippi that earned this recognition are: Lewisburg High School, Madison Central High School, and Petal High School.
According to College Board, “The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness. The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.”
“Oxford High School’s recognition on the AP® School Honor Roll is a testament to the commitment and hard work of our students, teachers, and entire school community,” said Bradley Roberson, Superintendent of the Oxford School District. “This honor not only reflects our dedication to creating opportunities for all students to access college-level coursework but also underscores our focus on college readiness and empowering students to reach their fullest potential.”
The AP® School Honor Roll began in 2023. Oxford High School was awarded the Bronze distinction last year as well. There are 19 Advanced Placement® classes offered at Oxford High School.
