Calling all artists!
Oxford, Mississippi (April 15, 2024) — The Oxford School District (OSD) is requesting art submissions from students and alumni to help beautify the Charger Health & Wellness Clinic. The deadline to submit artwork is May 15, 2024.
Rules & Eligibility
Eligibility:
- Submissions are open to all students grades Pre-K to 12 who are enrolled in the Oxford School District.
- Submissions are also open to Oxford School District alumni.
Requirements:
- Artwork must be an original work by the student, created by hand without the use of AI or digital image generation of any kind.
- Artwork is limited to one entry per student.
- Artwork can represent the following mediums: drawing or painting (i.e., pencil, charcoal, markers, pastels, colored pencils, oil paints, acrylics, water media, mixed media/collage, etc).
- Artwork must be submitted on canvas, card stock, or drawing paper with a minimum size of 8.5"×11". Prints or digital submissions will not be accepted.
Submitting Entries:
- The submission period begins April 15, 2024 and concludes on May 15, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.
- Submission must include a cover letter or index card with the student name, school, and grade. Alumni submissions must include name, graduation year, and a phone number.
- Artwork must be submitted in person at Oxford School District Administrative Offices (200 Bolt Blvd.) or turned in to your child’s art teacher at the school level.
Criteria:
- Entries will be evaluated based on originality, interpretation of subject matter/theme, creative techniques, composition, and overall appearance.
- While all subjects are welcome as submissions, the preferred subjects of artwork are OSD schools, Oxford Chargers, health and wellness themes, and/or the Oxford community.
Judging:
- District officials will select the top submissions and present them to a panel of judges. Those judges will make selections based on the above-mentioned criteria to determine which pieces will be placed in the Charger Health & Wellness Clinic.
Submission Terms & Agreement:
When submitting artwork, you must agree to the following terms and conditions:
- I certify that the submission, including text and illustrations, and any additional material were made by the Applicant indicated, and were not copied from another work, photograph, illustration or website, nor made by another. I represent that this submission does not infringe any third party intellectual property rights, nor does it contain any material that is defamatory, vulgar, or otherwise inappropriate. I understand that the submission, including text and illustrations, and any additional material will become the property of the Oxford School District. I give permission to Oxford School District to use, reproduce, publish, and display publicly my submission, including text and illustrations, and any additional materials, including but not limited to, applicant’s name, school, and grade.
