Oxford High School DECA Earns Chapter Honor

Oxford, Mississippi (January 18, 2022) — Oxford High School DECA was recently awarded the Membership Campaign Award for the 2021-2022 school year.

Each year, DECA recognizes leading chapters that have built strong local programs focused on serving an exceptional number of members, advisors, alumni and business partners. These chapters and individuals dedicate their year to academic and career preparation, community service projects, membership recruitment, school outreach activities and other DECA-related endeavors. Our student leaders have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to DECA through their efforts in building a successful program at Oxford High School.

DECA’s membership campaign is designed to help chapters grow by making the DECA experience available to more student members, keeping alumni involved while engaging professional members such as administrators, teachers, parents, and business partners.

Of the 3,000 DECA chapters, only 450 chapters earned recognition in DECA’s chapter campaigns and only 775 chapters earned recognition in DECA’s membership campaign. The Oxford High School DECA Chapter is extremely proud to be among those recognized for this award.

“I am so honored that our students see the value in going above and beyond our traditional curriculum and choose to be involved with DECA at the district, state and national level. It is a tremendous honor for our students to represent OHS and OSD at this level and I am so proud of our talented students. Without a doubt, this well-deserved experience will help prepare our students for a future in a highly-competitive, global workforce.” – OHS DECA Advisor, Stacy Murchison
