Local Barber Gives Back to Students
Local Barber Gives BackA local barber, Dewayne Carroll, gives his time to mentor students who are aspiring barbers. Today, he gave free haircuts to some deserving students to get them ready for the holidays. Check out Dewayne at Goolsby's Hair World (right off the square). Thank you Dewayne and Mrs. Greene for making this happen!

Oxford, Mississippi (December 14, 2020) — The support of local businesses is a large part of the Oxford School District’s success over the years. Arranged by Phyllis Green, an OSD Transition Specialist, a local barber provided free haircuts for some deserving students at Oxford High School. Dewayne Carroll, a barber at Goolsby’s Hair World, also serves the community as a mentor for aspiring barbers. He wanted to “give back during the holidays and help some kids out with haircuts this season.”
As he trimmed and shaped hairlines, he could be heard giving pointers on daily grooming and hair care. Mr. Carroll invited other students to watch so he could explain the skills he has acquired over years of experience.
Thank you to Mr. Carroll and Goolsby’s Hair World for giving back to our students in many ways!
