Back-to-School Information

School starts on Monday, August 1st. Listed below is all the important information that families need to know. We will continue to keep you updated as we draw closer to the first day of school!

Bus Routes

Does your child need to be picked up or dropped off at an address different from your home?
In order to verify your identity, you must come in person to the OSD Transportation Department (located at 26 County Road 1032). Bring a valid driver’s license when you come. The transportation office is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Registration MUST be completed before bus routes are assigned. Visit to register.

Technology Fees and Fines

All students will be assigned a device for the 2022-2023 school year. Click here for details on technology fees, fines, and other important information.

School Start and End Times

School day start and end times are:

  • Elementary Schools (Early Childhood, Bramlett, Della, and Central):  7:40 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.
  • Oxford Intermediate and Middle School:  8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Oxford High School:  8:40 a.m. to 3:41 p.m.

Staggered Start for Pre-K and Kindergarten

As in years past, Pre-K and Kindergarten students will observe a staggered start. This helps get our youngest learners settled in a new place with bathrooms, a cafeteria, and finding their way around.

  • Monday, August 1st: BOYS ONLY (Pre-K and Kindergarten)
  • Tuesday, August 2nd: GIRLS ONLY (Pre-K and Kindergarten)
  • Wednesday, August 3rd: ALL STUDENTS (Pre-K and Kindergarten)

Class Assignments

Parents can access PowerSchool to view their child's schedule on the following dates:

  • PreK- 5th Grades:
    PowerSchool opens on July 25th to see your child’s teacher assignment.
  • 6th-12th Grades:
    PowerSchool opens on July 18th to allow students to see their schedule and request schedule changes.

We Need You to Apply!

Oxford School District receives federal funding using data from the USDA National Breakfast, Lunch, and Snack Programs. In order to receive free-or-reduced lunch, you must apply online. Parents must fill out a new online application EVERY YEAR even if your children qualified for the program last school year.

Don’t Forget Open House: July 28 (Except OIS)

Open House for the 2022-2023 school year is on Thursday, July 28th (OIS open house is August 16). Take advantage of this opportunity to tour campus, visit classrooms, and meet teachers before the first day of school!

  • Oxford Early Childhood Center (Pre-K):
    Appointments All Day
  • Bramlett Elementary School (K and 1st):
    3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Della Davidson School (2nd and 3rd):
    3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Central Elementary School (4th and 5th):
    4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Oxford Intermediate School (6th):
    August 16th, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Oxford Middle School (7th and 8th):
    5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Oxford High School (9th-12th):
    5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Tax-Free Weekend

The 2022 Sales Tax Holiday takes place between 12:01 A.M. Friday, July 29, 2022 and midnight Saturday, July 30, 2022.

Purchase certain items without having to pay the 7% state sales tax. Saturday. Items such as clothing, footwear, and school supplies are included.
