Back-to-School Information

Oxford, Mississippi (August 7, 2020) — This page contains updates and important information about services offered to parents and students. Thank you for taking the time to read!

Seven Meal Locations

Over the next two weeks, the Child Nutrition team will serve grab-and-go meals at 7 different pick-up locations weekdays from 9 am-12 pm: 

  • Bramlett Elementary School (225 Bramlett Blvd)
  • Wayne Johnson Apartments (2223 Delores Drive)
  • Brittany Woods Subdivision (Hwy 6)
  • C.B. Webb Townhomes (900 Molly Barr Road)
  • Western Hills Area (Near Anchorage Road)
  • Oasis Church (861 MS-6 West)
  • Springhill Area at Our Store Grocery (71 CR 105)

WELL DONE! Our child nutrition team has served over 250,000 meals since March 16th!

Parent Training for Learning Platforms

Online Learners:

  • Parents of Elementary (PreK-4th)
    Tuesday, August 11th at 6:00 p.m.
    Oxford Middle School Auditorium
  • Parents of Secondary (5th-12th)
    Wednesday, August 12th at 6:00 p.m. 
    Oxford Middle School Auditorium

Update: We will have these training videos posted online by Friday, August 14th for any parent to view.

New OSD students:

Due to limited seating, only one member from each family will be permitted. All participants will be required to wear a face covering.

Device Pickup

If you have chosen ONLINE LEARNING for your child for the 1st nine weeks, we will have another device pickup event:

Staggered Start for All Grades

Our campuses will resume using a staggered start schedule as originally planned. 

  • Odd grades (plus Pre-K) will attend school on Monday, August 24th.
  • Even grades (plus K) will attend their first day of school on Tuesday, August 25th.
  • All students will attend together on Wednesday, August 26th.

Detailed plans from your child's principal

Your child's principal will be communicating specifics on August 19th about returning to the classroom. This information will answer your questions on topics such as:

  • campus entry and exit
  • daily screenings
  • cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing plans
  • lunch delivery to classrooms
  • recess
  • charger time and specials
  • restroom breaks
  • quarantine protocol
  • parent notifications

Questions About Masks?

Based on the Board Policy EBDCC- Temporary Modification Procedures for 2020-21 School Year

"Face coverings will be required for every person inside an OSD school building or classroom, or outdoors on a school campus whenever it is not possible to maintain a minimum of six feet of social distance from another person who is not in the same household."


This will expire only when the OSD Board of Trustees elects to change this policy or superseded by an Executive Order.

Deadline for Online Learning

You have until 4:30 p.m. TODAY, Friday, August 7th, to change the instructional preference for your child.

ONLY complete this survey if you prefer to change your child's instructional preference for the first nine-week grading period.
