Oxford, Mississippi (June 13, 2018) — On Tuesday, June 12, 2018, the Oxford School District Board of Trustees held a Special Called Board Meeting followed by Executive Session for consideration of purchase bids of Oxford Elementary School (OES). The highest bid came from the city of Oxford for $2,000,501.
The School Board feels that its appraisal of $2.8M was thorough and accurate, and conducted in best interest of the district’s fiscal responsibility to Oxford tax payers. The decision was made by the Board of Trustees to allow the bids to expire with the intention of working with the City to reach a satisfactory agreement for both entities.
The mission of the Oxford School District is to challenge every student to reach his or her maximum potential, thereby developing highly educated, responsible, college or career ready citizens who will take an active role in society.
The Oxford School District is an equal opportunity employer. It is the policy of the Oxford School District Board of Trustees not to discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin or disability in its educational programs, activities or employment practices.
