Oxford, Mississippi (October 24, 2017) — The Oxford School District (OSD) recognizes October as National Principals Month, and the Oxford School Board of Trustees honored Oxford school principals during their regularly scheduled October meeting by issuing a proclamation to honor them.
The Oxford School District Board of Trustees declared October as National Principals Month and expresses support for them since they provide the vision, dedication and determination as the mobilizing force behind any school reform effort.
The proclamation states: “Principals set the academic tone for their schools and work collaboratively with teachers to develop and manta high curriculum standards, develop mission statements, and set performance goals for schools to achieve educational excellence.”
OSD Superintendent Brian Harvey said, “During October we honor and recognize the contribution of all school principals and assistant principals at all grade levels to the success of students in our elementary and secondary schools.”
