OHS Senior receives Lindy Callahan Scholar-Athletes Scholarship

Oxford, Mississippi (April 22, 2024) — Oxford High School senior, Jack Harper, was recently recognized as a Lindy Callahan Scholar-Athlete. He is one of sixteen seniors from across the state of Mississippi to receive this scholarship and honor.
“[Harper] is just an overall outstanding human being, works hard in the classroom, works hard on the field, and he works tremendously hard at being a leader,” said Activities Co-Director Chris Baughman.
It has been seven years since former OHS student, Swayze Elliot, won this prestigious award in 2017. This year, more than 200 students from various parts of Mississippi were nominated for this award. Each member school of the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MSHAA) had the opportunity to nominate two senior student athletes, one female and one male. The final awardees were selected by a committee composed of MHSAA partners and school administrators.
Harper is a dedicated athlete to the Oxford High School football and baseball teams. Upon graduating in May, he plans to attend the University of Mississippi, where he has committed to play football.
Congratulations to Jack Harper on this outstanding achievement!
