Oxford, Mississippi (October 21, 2020) — The Oxford High Swim Team competed in the 2020 North Half Swimming Championship where the girls' team finished runner-up (the highest since 2011) and the boys' team finished 3rd overall.
Julia Dennis, an 11th grader, won the North Half titles in both the 50- and 500-yard Free. Charles Byars won the boys North Half title in the 100-yard Free and was runner-up in the 200-yard Free.
The girls 400 Free Relay won the relay title- Ellinor Maxwell, Cole Oyler, Madeline Gaia, and Julia Dennis. Maxwell also earned runner-up in the Girls 200-yard Free. Gaia took home third place in the 100 Breast and did Neil Cipkowski in the Boys 100-yard Fly.
The Charger swim team qualified 20 swimmers to compete in Saturday’s State Meet which will begin at noon in Tupelo.
