Orley Hood Sports Journalism Award Given to OHS Senior

Oxford, Mississippi (May 25, 2018) — Oxford High School senior selected for a statewide journalism award. Andrew Gardner is the recipient of The Orley Hood Excellence in Sports Journalism award. Named for beloved Mississippi newspaperman Orley Hood, the award goes to the outstanding High School sports journalist in Mississippi. It is chosen by a panel of sports journalists.
Garner was recognized at the Clarion Ledger Sports Awards ceremony in Jackson on May 22nd at Thalia Mara Hall. Soccer legend Mia Hamm and her husband, former MLB All-Star Nomar Garciaparra, were the special guests at the fourth Clarion Ledger Sports Awards.
