Oxford, Mississippi (December 9, 2024) — Oxford School District’s Assistant Director of Child Nutrition and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Jeannette Clements, recently led two informative and engaging sessions on meal planning for OSD staff.

These sessions were part of an ongoing series of seminars hosted by OSD’s Human Resources and Health and Wellness departments—which aim to foster professional and personal growth.

Mrs. Clements shared valuable insight on meal planning, offered participants easy-to-follow recipes, and provided additional resources for planning healthy and budget-friendly meals.

“There was a lot of positive feedback,” OSD Director of Health and Wellness Erin Siskey said. “She gave everyone a week’s worth of [recipes] along with resources to help in planning, and to help with comparing prices and shopping for items.”

Lindsey Estes, a Central Elementary School employee, attended the class and said, “One of my favorite tips [I learned] for grocery pickup is to compare prices between the two grocery stores while creating my shopping cart. I do not like substitutions on most products, so I know I am getting the best deal. This saves me time and money. I also learned that I need to start with the weekly ads to help save money for meal planning.”

Thank you so much to Mrs. Clements for her insight and leading the discussion on meal planning!

Stay tuned for more upcoming seminars—covering a variety of topics—coming this spring!
