Invitation to Join Oxford School District Committees
We are excited to announce the formation of several new committees dedicated to addressing key areas of focus within our district. These committees are an essential part of our commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a strong partnership between our schools and the community. Each committee will be led by one of our Chief Officers, who will bring their expertise and dedication to their respective areas. We warmly invite you to join us in this collaborative effort by volunteering to serve on one of these committees.
- Family Communication on Student Academic Performance:
Our Chief Academic Officer will lead a committee focused on enhancing communication between families and the district regarding student academic performance. This committee will work on developing strategies to ensure families are well-informed and engaged in their children's academic progress and success. - Understanding School District Financial Decisions:
The Chief Financial Officer will chair a committee aimed at helping employees and families gain a better understanding of the school district’s financial decisions. This committee will provide insights into the budgeting process, financial priorities, and the financial health of the district, ensuring transparency and clarity. - Technology Use in Schools:
Under the leadership of our Chief of Operations, this committee will address the use of technology in our schools, including the policies surrounding cell phone use. The committee will explore best practices and create guidelines to ensure technology enhances the learning environment while maintaining appropriate boundaries. - Student Safety:
Our Chief of Staff will head a committee dedicated to ensuring all students feel safe within Oxford School District schools. This committee will focus on identifying and implementing measures to improve school safety, fostering an environment where students can learn and thrive without concerns for their well-being. - Strengthening Relationships with Families of Special Education Students:
The Chief of Student Services will lead a committee aimed at strengthening the relationship between the district and families with students who receive special education services. This committee will work on improving support systems, communication, and collaboration to better meet the needs of these students and their families.
The goal for each committee is to provide procedural or policy change recommendations to the board and superintendent by March of 2025, in preparation for the 2025-26 school year. We believe that the involvement of our families is crucial to the success of these committees. Your insights, experiences, and suggestions are invaluable as we strive to make meaningful improvements. If you are interested in volunteering for one of these committees, please complete this volunteer form or call our administrative offices at 662-234-3541 by July 5.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the Oxford School District. Together, we can create a more inclusive, transparent, and effective educational environment for all our students.
