Oxford High School’s Scholastic Institute Continues To Grow
Oxford, Mississippi (May 8, 2024) — Oxford High School proudly recognizes the fourth graduating class of the Scholastic Institute program. This year, nineteen Oxford High School seniors completed the program, each of them earning an associate’s degree from Northwest Mississippi Community College (NWCC) in addition to a high school diploma. On Friday, May 3, the graduating members of the Scholastic Institute participated in NWCC's commencement ceremony.
The Scholastic Institute program is under the leadership of Chris Cutcliffe, Oxford School District’s Director of Student Development.
“It was really exciting for me in my first year working with Scholastic Institute to see this large group of nineteen graduates successfully complete the program,” Cutcliffe said. “We are really looking forward to continuing to grow the Scholastic Institute going forward.”
Eligible students begin the Scholastic Institute as juniors, and should complete both their high school curriculum and associate’s degree from NWCC by the completion of their senior year of high school. The awarded associate’s degree is transferable to any public university in the state of Mississippi.
Congratulations to the 2024 Scholastic Institute graduates! We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
