OSD Retirement Reception 2019

Oxford, Mississippi (May 10, 2019) — Oxford School District (OSD) employees retiring this school year were honored during the OSD Retirement Reception on Thursday May 9, 2019, at Oxford Middle School. Friends, families, coworkers and school officials celebrated the following district employees for their service to public education and dedication to Oxford School District students, parents, and the community:

Candy Mize

  • 34 years in education
  • 14 of those years in OSD
  • Bachelor of Elementary Education from the University of MS
  • Master of Elementary Education from the University of Southern MS
  • Endorsement of Educational Leadership Administration and Supervision from the University of Southern MS
  • Current position: Director of Elementary Curriculum & Instruction
  • Past position: Assistant Principal at Bramlett Elementary

Regina Carothers

  • 32 years in education
  • 20 of those years in OSD
  • Bachelor of Science and Mathematics with Minor in Education from MS Valley State University
  • Master of Educational Psychology; Specialist in Educational Psychology; and Administrative Certification from the University of MS
  • National Board Certified since 2007
  • Current position: Guidance Counselor at Oxford High School
  • Past position: Principal at Oxford Learning Center

Sarah Tidwell

  • 20 years as a teacher, 3 years as a TA - all in OSD
