Oxford, Mississippi (April 2, 2019) — The Mississippi Music Educators Association (MMEA) named Oxford High's Choral Director, Thomas Ardrey, as the 2019 Young Music Educator of the Year. Ardrey was honored at the MMEA annual conference in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Nominated by Hannah Gadd, Mississippi's Teacher of the year, Ardrey was also recommended by OHS principal, Chandler Gray, one of his students and a parent. "It is such an honor to receive this award. I am incredibly lucky to be able to spend each day with my amazing students and colleagues at Oxford High School,” said Ardrey.
Ardrey is in his fifth year of teaching in the district.
