Oxford, Mississippi (February 5, 2019) — The National High School Athletic Coaches Association (NHSACA) has named Oxford High School Tennis Coach, Louis Nash, as a Finalist for the 2019 “Coach of the Year.”
This process began in September 2018 when Mississippi’s Association of Coaches named Nash as their nominee for this prestigious award. Eight nominees were identified as “Finalists” from across the nation. These 8 finalists will now continue in the process to select one of the 8 finalists as the NHSACA National Coach of the Year of the Year for 2019. The finalists’ will attend The National Coach of the Year Awards Banquet at the national convention in Bismarck, ND from June 22-27.
Nash is in his 19th year of coaching at OHS and has achieved ten consecutive years of 5A state championships from 2008-2017. In 2018, Nash retired and became a paraprofessional remaining as the high school tennis coach.
The goal of NHSAA is to promote high school athletics, provide professional services to our member coaches while providing opportunities for all high school coaches. The NHSACA provides resources to promote professional growth, and attitude of teamwork, sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles for Athletes, Coaches, and Athletic Directors.
