Important Back-to-School Information 2025
School starts on Monday, August 4. Listed below is all the important information that families need to know. We will continue to update this page as we draw closer to the first day of school!
Open House: July 29
Open House for the 2025-2026 school year is on Tuesday, July 29. This event is a quick, informal opportunity for you and your child to meet the teacher, see the classroom, and get familiar with important areas like the cafeteria, library, and pick-up/drop-off spots. It’s a fast-paced event focused on helping students feel ready and comfortable on Day One!

Back-to-School Parent Nights
Back-to-School Night is a chance for families to return to school once routines are in place. You’ll spend more time with your child’s teacher learning about the curriculum, classroom policies, grading practices, daily schedules, and how you can support learning at home.

New-to-the-District Parent Orientation: July 24
A parent night for families new to the Oxford School District will be held on July 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Della Davidson Elementary School cafeteria (parking is available in the front or back of the school).
Parents will learn about the key platforms you and your child will use throughout the school year. We’ll walk you through everything you need to know and answer all your back-to-school questions. A brief presentation and helpful handouts will be provided to ensure a smooth and confident transition into the Oxford School District.
Bell Schedules
School-day hours are:
- Elementary Schools (PreK-5th grade): 7:40 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.
- Secondary Schools (6th-12th grade): 8:40 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Bus Routes
Here Comes the Bus (Bus Tracking App):
Download the Here Comes the Bus mobile app, the bus and student tracking tool that keeps you informed and your children safe as they travel to and from home and school on the school bus. Your student will use their student I.D. (issued by their school) to scan as they board.
This easy-to-use technology is free to you. Simply download the Here Comes the Bus mobile app on your iPhone or Android, sign up for an account using SCHOOL CODE 87494, add your student, and you’re all set!

Staggered Start for Pre-K
We will not observe a staggered start for the 2025-2026 school year. All students will start school together on August 4.
Technology Fees & Fines
All students will be assigned a device for the 2025-2026 school year.

Students in grades PreK-5 will be issued iPads in the classroom the first week of school. Elementary students do not take their devices home.
Laptop distribution for grades 6-12 will be held on the following dates for returning secondary students (grades 6-12).

- Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day

- OMS (grades 7-8)
- Date: July 23 & 24
- Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day
- Location: Oxford Middle School (222 Bramlett Blvd., Oxford, MS 38655)
- OHS (grades 9-12)
- Date: July 22, 23, & 24
- Time: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day
- Location: Wisdom Hall at Oxford High School (101 Charger Loop, Oxford, MS 38655)
NOTE: In order to receive their device on laptop distribution dates in July, your student must (1) have paid their tech fee and (2) be fully registered for the 2025-2026 school year. New students and those who miss laptop distribution dates will receive their laptops during the first week of school.
School Meals
Full-paid student lunch prices will be $3.75.
Adult lunch prices will be $5.
Apply for Free & Reduced-Price Meals:
Oxford School District receives federal funding using data from the USDA National Breakfast, Lunch, and Snack Programs. In order to receive free or reduced-price meals, you must apply online. Parents must fill out a new online application EVERY YEAR, even if your children qualified for the program last school year.
Class Assignments
Parents can access PowerSchool to view their child's 2025-2026 schedule on the following dates:
- PreK-5th Grade:
PowerSchool opens after 8 a.m. on July 25 to see your child’s teacher assignment. - 6th-12th Grade:
PowerSchool opens after 8 a.m. on July 21 to allow students to see their schedule.
