The Oxford School District offers an in-house after-school program for students in grades Pre-K through 6. The cost for each child is $200 per month. However, families who qualify for free or reduced lunch will pay a reduced rate of $150 per month.
While we recognize and value that some students may have unique learning or behavioral needs that require individualized support, our after-school program is neither equipped nor staffed to provide specialized services or accommodations beyond general supervision and academic support.

Introduction
We are thrilled to continue the Oxford School District's School Program! We extend a warm welcome to you and your children.
Our After School Program is designed to provide a safe and inviting environment where students can engage in organized play, receive tutoring when requested, and participate in enriching activities. Our team is committed to meeting the needs of every student by offering a variety of engaging experiences that promote growth and learning.
Here are some key features of our After School Program:

At the heart of our program is a commitment to creating a space where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to grow. I believe after-school programs are more than just a place to stay; they are an opportunity to build confidence, develop social skills, and spark a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. Research shows that high-quality after-school programs can improve student engagement, motivation, and overall academic success while also strengthening social and emotional development.

Charger After School operates from the time participants are released from school until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Program Goals

Registration Process
Parents may register their students during open enrollment using the link provided. After open enrollment, parents will be placed on a waiting list for the next available spot.

Payment and Fees
The monthly cost for the 2026-2027 school year will be $200. However, families who qualify for free or reduced lunch will continue to pay the reduced rate of $150 per month. Fees will be applied to your child's PowerSchool account and are due on the 1st of each month. The monthly amount should be paid through the student’s PowerSchool account. Any monthly fee paid after the 10th of the month will be charged a $25 late fee. If the monthly fee is not paid by the 15th of the month, your child’s enrollment in the aftercare program may be suspended or terminated.
Charger after school will offer a sibling discount to parents with more than one child enrolled in the program. The discount is $20 off per month for each subsequent child after one child in the family is registered at full price.
When children enroll in the after-care program, the site provides the time, space, staff, and provisions for each child, whether or not the child attends. The monthly fee will be charged in full regardless of how many days the child attends. Fees are not refundable if a child is suspended or expelled from our program.
Withdrawal Policy
If a parent would like to withdraw their child from the program, they will need to complete the required Withdrawal Form and submit it to the After School site coordinator before the first day of the month in order to avoid the monthly fee being assigned to their student’s PowerSchool account. Fees are nonrefundable if a student withdraws before the end of the month.
Pick-up Policy
Children must be picked up by 5:30 p.m., the closing time for each site. If an emergency arises and you are unable to reach the site by 5:30 p.m., please contact your site coordinator to let him/her know when you will arrive.
Late Fee Policy: A late fee will automatically be applied anytime a child is picked up after 5:30 p.m..
Late Fee Structure:
- $1 per minute after 5:30 p.m.
- $10 minimum fee
The late fee will be applied to the student’s PowerSchool account.
Staff members do not have the authority to waive late fees.
Sign-in and Sign-out Procedures
Student Badges: Students must have their badges with them daily. These badges are essential for the sign-out process.
Parent/Guardian Identification: Parents or authorized designees must present a valid driver's license or state-issued ID when picking up students.
Authorized Pick-Up: Students will be released only to individuals listed on the official pick-up list. Parents must complete the authorized pick-up form to keep the list current. Ensure your pick-up list is up to date to avoid delays.
Early Dismissal Guidelines
Charger After School sites will provide child care on 60% days that are scheduled in advance by the school district according to the academic calendar. The after-school program will remain open until 5:30 p.m.
In the event of inclement weather or an emergency, and if the school closes during operational hours, Charger After School will not provide child care. Parents will be notified of the closure and will need to make arrangements for their child’s pick-up.
Safe Environment
Accidents, Illness, and Emergency
We work very hard to anticipate and prevent injuries. If your child is injured, we will:
- Administer Band-Aids and comfort in large doses for minor hurts (cuts, scrapes, and bumps). Site coordinators will provide incident reports for such injuries.
- Contact you or your emergency contact if any injury may require medical attention, including bee stings, moderate cuts, sprains, joint injuries, or possible fractures. You may then decide how you would like to proceed.
- Secure medical treatment immediately if a parent or emergency contact cannot be reached or if the injury warrants fast action. OSD reserves the right to contact emergency care.
Student Returned to School
Students who are returned to school and placed in after-care because the bus brings them back to school due to no parent being at home to receive them will face the following consequences.
Bus Return Supervision Policy: A late fee will automatically be applied anytime a child is picked up after 5:30 PM.
Bus Return Supervision Fee Structure:
- $1 per minute after 5:30 PM
- $10 minimum fee
The bus return supervision fee will be applied to the student’s PowerSchool account.
Staff members do not have the authority to waive late fees.
Toileting Expectations and Personal Care Guidelines
The Charger After-School Program is designed to provide a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for elementary students. To ensure the safety and supervision of all children, students enrolled in the program are expected to be independently toilet trained and able to manage their personal toileting needs without one-on-one assistance.
Independent Toileting Expectations
Students attending the Charger After-School Program should be able to:
- Recognize when they need to use the restroom.
- Independently use the restroom without staff assistance.
- Manage clothing before and after using the restroom.
- Clean themselves after toileting.
- Wash and dry their hands independently.
- Return safely to their assigned group after using the restroom.
Personal Care
Because Charger After School is a group supervision program rather than a childcare or medical care program, staff members are not able to:
- Change diapers or pull-ups.
- Provide one-on-one toileting assistance.
- Clean or bathe students after toileting accidents.
- Assist with wiping or changing undergarments.
- Provide ongoing personal hygiene care.
These responsibilities require staffing beyond what is available in the after-school program and would remove staff from supervising the remaining students.
If a student has an accident, staff will:
- Provide privacy while the student changes independently.
- Offer verbal encouragement and guidance as appropriate.
- Contact the parent or guardian if additional assistance is needed.
- Request that parents provide a complete change of clothing that remains at school whenever appropriate.
Occasional Accidents
We understand that accidents may occasionally happen, even with students who are fully toilet trained. An isolated accident will be handled discreetly and compassionately.
However, repeated accidents indicate that a student may require a level of personal care beyond what the Charger After-School Program is able to provide.
Repeated Accidents
To maintain a safe environment for all students, the following procedures will be followed:
- First Accident:
- Parent/guardian will be notified.
- Second Accident (within a 30-day period):
- Parent/guardian will be notified.
- Staff will discuss concerns and review expectations with the family.
- Third Accident (within a 30-day period):
- A conference will be scheduled with the parent/guardian and the After-School Director to determine whether the program can continue to safely meet the student's needs.
- Additional Accidents:
- If accidents continue after the conference, the Charger After-School Program reserves the right to suspend or discontinue enrollment until the student is consistently able to manage toileting independently.
Multiple Accidents in One Day
If a student experiences multiple toileting accidents during the same afternoon, the parent or guardian may be contacted to pick up the student early.
Medical Conditions
If a student has a documented medical condition or disability that affects toileting, parents should notify the After-School Director before enrollment so the district can determine whether reasonable accommodations can be provided within the staffing and supervision available in the after-school program.
Our Goal
These guidelines are not intended to embarrass or punish any student. They are in place to ensure the health, safety, dignity, and supervision of all children in the Charger After-School Program.
Our staff is committed to treating every child with respect while maintaining a safe environment where all students can learn, participate, and enjoy after-school activities.
Discipline Matrix
Due Process: Students shall be afforded due process rights. This includes the right to (1) be informed of conduct which would result in disciplinary action against the student; (2) notice of the rule violation; (3) explanation of the evidence supporting the charge including but not limited to, staff or student corroboration and/or camera footage; (4) an opportunity to present the student’s side of the story; (5) a penalty that is proportionate to the violation.
NOTE: If a student receives three disciplinary write-ups, a mandatory meeting will be scheduled with the Site Director and Program Director to review the student’s behavior and overall conduct. Input from relevant members of the programming community may also be considered during this review. The purpose of the meeting is to determine appropriate next steps, which may include, but are not limited to, additional support interventions or dismissal from the program, based on the nature and frequency of the infractions.

Bullying
Definition: Physical, verbal, written, or electronic conduct, directed toward a student that is: 1) Unwanted, 2) Repeated, and 3) Involves an imbalance of power. These actions are so pervasive, severe, and objectively offensive, that they: 1) have the purpose of creating or resulting in an intimidating, hostile, or offensive academic environment, or 2) have the purpose or effect of substantially or unreasonably interfering with a student’s academic performance, which deprives the student access to educational opportunities.

Additional Infractions
Accessory: Students who cause someone else to commit a violation, help in the commission of a violation, or encourages, advises, or acts with another to commit a violation will be disciplined as if they committed the violation themselves.
Transportation behavior: While on district-provided transportation (including, but not limited to a bus or cab), students shall adhere to the same behavior expectations, standards, and consequences as at school. Consequences will be consistent with the violation committed, which may include suspension of riding privileges.
Infractions off school grounds: Activities that occur outside the school environment but substantially disturb the school environment are subject to the consequences listed in this matrix.
Consequence Definitions
Timeout: Discipline which requires students to serve timeout, during or after school.
Temporary Suspension: Temporary denial to a student by the After School Director and/or Director of Student Development.
Suspension: Denial of the program by the After School Director and/or Director of Student Development.
Where appropriate, the following additional interventions may be added to any violation:
- Apology: Written or verbal statement of, acknowledgment of, and accountability for, the offense.
- Law enforcement referral: When appropriate students will be referred to the police for violations that are also violations of city, state, or federal laws.
- Group reassignment: Reassignment of a student to a new group because of student misbehavior.
- Restitution: When appropriate, students will reimburse the school or others for financial damages.
- Restrictions: Removal of student privileges.
- Student conference: A meeting with administration and/or a counselor or team.
- Parent conference: A meeting with administration.
- Student contract: A written plan or agreement to address discipline concerns.
- Warning: Discussion and plan for change.
