The Oxford School District is proud to recognize Oxford High School teacher Charlie Winnick as our Employee of the Week. Mr. Winnick helps make our district a great place to work and learn.

“Mr. Winnick continuously goes above and beyond for his students in and outside of the classroom to ensure that every student who passes through his door feels like they have an advocate and the support they need to be successful”

“Charlie works tirelessly to help support some of our most at-risk students. He consistently meets and coordinates with his students and their teachers to ensure the optimal chance for success. Since his first day here, Charlie has been hard at work to ensure that our English Language Learners (ELL) can not just survive at OHS but can thrive.”

“Since his first day here, he has advocated for our students. Not only does he do whatever he can to support his students in the classroom, he regularly checks in with teachers to ensure some of our most at-risk students are getting the support they need to be successful.”

“Mr. Winnick makes such a special connection with his students. He tries really hard to reach the ELL students that might not otherwise have a connection with anyone else in the building. That makes a huge difference to kids.”

“Charlie is always available for his students, during school hours, on the weekends, he’s even proctored tests for kids over Zoom at 7pm at night! He has worked so hard to improve our ELL program and make his students feel safe and welcome, and he puts just as much energy into his French classes and coaching the Boys’ Soccer team. Students know they can trust him and that he will always have their best interest at heart”
