Dorothy “Ginger” Brown
Speech-Language Pathologist
Scott Center
“I was thrilled to be selected Employee of the Week. It is such an honor to be chosen by my fellow teachers, but the real honor is being able to come to work at the Scott Center everyday. I am so fortunate to be able to work with a group of professional, dedicated, and compassionate teachers and staff. Their devotion to the children they serve is amazing and catching. However, I have to admit that one of the best parts of being selected employee of the week is the prime parking spot in front of the Scott Center!”
Mrs. Dorothy “Ginger” Brown is currently completing her seventh year as the speech & language pathologist for the Scott Center. Mrs. Brown has a unique role in the provision of speech services for children, primarily, with special needs. That role entails helping remove the communication barriers that students with special needs often experience. She works diligently and patiently with students with disabilities, acute and chronic illnesses so that they may perform to their highest potential while in the classroom setting.
Mrs. Brown's colleagues describe her as caring, helpful, hardworking, cheerful, dedicated, enthusiastic, energetic, and committed toward the task at hand. In addition to her duties at the Scott Center, Mrs. Brown works closely and collaboratively with the local childcare centers and daycare centers in an effort to help them get off to a good start in terms of the children's' educational services.
Without reservation, it is with great pleasure that we recognize Mrs. Dorothy “Ginger” Brown as the Scott Center's Employee of the Week representative for the Oxford School District.
