Florence Williams
Custodian
Oxford High School
“I just like my job. I like everything about it. I’m excited about this because I’ve never been employee of the week.”
For the past three years, Florence Williams has been making Oxford High School look good. As a custodian, Florence takes pride in her work and says she enjoys everything about her job. As she humbly goes about her work from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. every week day, Florence enjoys speaking with the staff and with students who she says always stop to talk and keep her informed of all the events and happenings in the building.
While she enjoys every day she works, Florence says certain times of the year are especially fun for her.
“I like it around the Christmas Holidays because all the kids are happy and excited,” Florence said. “And right before summer break, because everyone knows they are about to get out for the summer.”
While all the students are enjoying those summers, Florence keeps right on working, helping to move furniture, equipment, and shelves as the custodians clean the buildings and wax the floors, making the school shine. Oxford High School is happy to have Florence represent them as the Employee of the Week.
“Florence does a really great job. She is conscientious and takes a lot of pride in the building and in her work.” — Bill Hovious, Principal
