Agena Boles
School Nurse
Scott Center
Agena Boles is currently completing her first year as the school nurse for the Scott Center. Agena has a unique role in the provision of school health services for children with special needs. That role entails removing any health barriers to learning so that children with special needs, disabilities, acute and chronic illnesses may perform to their highest potential while in the classroom setting.
In addition to tending the health and safety needs of the students at the Scott Center, Agena has also been instrumental in pioneering efforts to educate and provide training on relevant health topics that affect and impact students' learning and well-being. She has personally designed and offered focused sessions on a routine basis in hopes of addressing the unique needs of the students assigned to the Scott Center and the Oxford Learning Center. Agena has often been described as very compassionate, caring, thorough, diligent, informative, hard working, dedicated, and passionate about the profession.
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Nurse Agena Boles as the Scott Center's Employee of the Week representative for the Oxford School District.
It was a pleasant surprise to learn that I had been chosen as Employee of the Week. This is the first time in my nursing career that I have been a school nurse, and it has been a very satisfying experience. Words can not express the joy I feel each day working with the students at the Scott Center. Thanks to all my co-workers and a special thanks to the students.
