OSD Celebrates Opening of Career Pathways Building with Community Open House and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

OSD board members, district leaders, CTE teachers, and community members gathered on July 28 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community Open House event at the Career Pathways Building.
Oxford, Mississippi — The Oxford School District celebrated the official opening of the new Oxford High School Career Pathways building on Monday, July 28, with a community Open House event and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This new facility reflects the district’s commitment to provide students with hands-on and career connected learning experiences to support the future success of all students.
The Career Pathways building is now home to six Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, the Oxford High School JROTC program, and a new course focused on the use of Artificial Intelligence in the workplace, developed in partnership with local industry leaders. The new facility makes way for expanded programming and reflects record-high student engagement in CTE courses.
The new Career Pathways building is located adjacent to the Center for Applied Engineering that opened in 2022. Together, these two buildings create a hub for real-world learning in a variety of fields.
As part of the district’s growing focus on college and career development, OSD officially launched nine career pathways to help students connect their interests to academic courses, CTE programs, internships, extracurricular activities, and future opportunities.
The nine OSD Career Pathways are:
- Architecture and Construction
- Arts, Audio-Video Technology, and Communications
- Business, Marketing, and Finance
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Education and Social Sciences
- Environment and Biological Sciences and Natural Resources
- Hospitality and Entertainment
- Medicine and Health Sciences
- Political Science and Human Services
We are grateful for these spaces where our students will grow and learn for years to come. A special thank you to the Oxford School District Board of Trustees, Superintendent Bradley Roberson, and Chief Operations Officer Dr. Steve Hurdle.
