OHS Senior Sets State Record with 800-Pound Squat

Oxford, Mississippi — Oxford High School is delighted to announce that senior Tykevious “Mook” Patrick has broken the state record in powerlifting with an extraordinary 800-pound squat, marking an outstanding historic achievement for the Oxford Powerlifting program.

Since joining the powerlifting team as a freshman, Mook currently serves as senior captain and exemplifies resilience, strength, and discipline. In addition to his record-breaking squat, he recorded a 330-pound bench press and a 500-pound deadlift, while also earning first-place finishes at the regional and North Half competitions.

OHS Powerlifting Coach Issac Boose stated, Mook is a leader amongst his peers and holds himself to a very high standard. He maintains having a positive attitude through adversity while pushing his teammates to be their very best.

Oxford High School congratulates Mook on this historic achievement and commends the hard work and dedication that made this milestone possible! We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
