The Oxford Charger Athletic Department is known nationally as a first-class program.

The Chargers received the MHSAA 5A All-Sports Award for the 2015-2016 school year. Each year, athletic teams are crowned state champions as they compete in a top-notch program. In fact, the Chargers claimed six state championship titles in the 2015-2016 season: boys’ powerlifting, boys’ track and field, girls’ soccer, girls’ track and field, tennis, and baseball.

Also, the cheerleading team represented Oxford High School at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championships at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. A total of 21 Oxford High School athletes were awarded all-state honors and many others will continue in their athletic careers playing on the college level.

The Oxford School District offers 21 Class 5A sports teams at the high school level, and nine sports teams at the middle school level. Additional to athletics, the Chargers are home to two award-winning spirit squads: cheerleading and a dance team. If a sport is not offered at the middle school level, students are eligible to compete on the high school level.
