Oxford School District’s Guide to Address the Challenges of COVID-19
A Message from the Superintendent
The Board of Trustees and the administration of the Oxford School District are committed to doing all we can to return to as normal of a school year as reasonably possible given the circumstances.
As COVID-19 continues to influence the status of the 2020-2021 school term, our schools will work together to leverage available resources, share best practices, and advocate and take advantage of federal and state waivers in the best interests of our students and their families.
The Mississippi Department of Education released Considerations for Reopening Mississippi’s Schools. This statewide document outlines three options for reopening schools: traditional, hybrid, and virtual. The Oxford School District will offer two options for parents to choose from: 1) traditional with additional regulations to ensure the safety of students and staff, and 2) virtual.
The OSD Board of Trustees adopted a policy on June 29, 2020 that outlines the priorities under which schools will be open utilizing a traditional schedule. Those guidelines and regulations are included in this document. It is necessary to keep in mind that all guidelines and regulations are temporary and subject to change as guidance from local and state health authorities is updated.
