OMS Dance Team

  • The Oxford Middle School Dance Team was established in 2017 and is made up of 7th and 8th graders at OMS. 

    The purpose of the Oxford Middle School Dance Team is to promote school spirit, provide entertainment at athletic events, and to represent the school and community at dance team competitions.

    The mission is to provide dancers with a successful and meaningful educational experience. Team members have personal goals of high academic achievement, increasing their dance ability, learning effective time management, and forming strong friendships. The success of this team is by having a strong commitment from the dancers, parental involvement, and coaches. The dancers exhibit good sportsmanship, positive attitudes toward team members, competitors, school, parents and coaches.

  • 2020-2021 Tryouts Postponed:

    Due to school closures, OMS Dance Clinic & Tryouts (originally scheduled for March 30-April 2) have been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date. Once we have determined new dates, all information will be posted here on the OMS Dance website, the OMS Dance Instagram page, and in the Schoology group! Thank you for your patience!

    *Please make sure you turn your permission forms and physicals sent into Coach Roberson ASAP! You will not be able to try out if she does not have the necessary forms.

  • UDA Camp 2019:

    The Oxford Middle School Dance Team attended Universal Dance Association camp at Mississippi State University in June 2019. At this camp, dancers spend four days learning new skills, improving technique, growing as a team, and learning new routines in various styles to perform on the last day of camp. The Chargers brought home hardware in several categories:

    • Home Routine – 2nd place
    • ALL Blue Ribbons
    • Superior Trophy 
    • All-Americans – Caroline Berry, Mae Maxwell, Lily Grace Robinson, Eliza Webb were invited to participate in Disney's Thanksgiving Parade in Orlando, FL
    • Spirit Stick– all 4 days
    • Pin It Forward Receipient - Caroline Berry
    • A bid to UDA NATIONALS
