Bond Referendum Vote Set for September 19
On September 19, 2023, a special election will be held for Oxford, Mississippi residents to vote on a $37 Million bond referendum for the Oxford School District which includes renovation and expansion projects for:
- Oxford Early Childhood Center:
(Addition of new! 3-K program)
renovate, replace, repair, remodel, enlarge, equip and add to existing facilities, including fencing, playground equipment, canopies, classrooms, restrooms, kitchen area, flooring and gym and perform site work; - Oxford High School:
renovate, repair, remodel, enlarge and equip existing facilities, including adding a turf drill field for ROTC, Band and other school activities, constructing a security guard building and entry gates, constructing or renovating parking areas and constructing and equipping a center for innovation and workforce development including classrooms, offices, work rooms and restrooms; - Athletics Facility Expansion:
renovate, repair, remodel, enlarge and equip existing facilities and parking area and construct and equip restrooms and weight and meeting rooms; - Oxford Middle School:
add turf to existing practice field and install bleachers and scoreboard; - Central Elementary School:
construct and equip playground basketball courts.
