A. Parent and Community Involvement Mission
A partnership must exist between our parents and our school. We promote positive communication between the school and our students’ homes. The school will provide various opportunities for parents to participate in activities that support our school. We believe teachers are responsible for providing the framework for parents to nurture their children’s education at home. We will provide materials that parents can use at home to enhance their children's academic success. Our goal is to create an atmosphere where parents can express their views and contribute to problem-solving. We want parents to understand that we view them as joint policy and decision-makers and plan to emphasize their roles as advocates.
B. Parent Involvement Planning
Oxford Middle School will hold parent/community meetings to provide information regarding the school curriculum, academic assessments, student progress, and the proficiency requirements students are expected to meet as they progress from grade to grade. Through regular meetings and annual surveys, parents will have the opportunity to make suggestions and participate in decisions related to their children's education.
