AVID Program Faculty

One key to a successful AVID program is having a site coordinator and teacher who:

• are respected site instructional leaders,
• work well with secondary school personnel as well as college students and faculty,
• can organize curriculum as well as activities, and
• are committed to serving the needs of target students.

The site coordinator also works with colleagues (AVID Teams) to implement AVID methodologies schoolwide, place students in college preparatory curriculum, and guide students through the college application process.
