Academic Readiness

Students in grades 6-8 are ready for High School when they meet 3 or more of the Academic indicators below.

Academic Readiness Indicators (Meet 3 or More)
Earn a 2.8 GPA or higher
Earn a C or higher in 7th- and 8th-grade English Language Arts
Earn a C or higher in 7th- and 8th-grade Math
Earn a C or higher in 7th- and 8th-grade Social Studies and Science courses
Meet IEP goals
Be on track to take an A.P. course
Be on track to take a college course in high school

Career & Life Readiness

Career & Life Readiness

Students in grades 6-8 must meet 3 or more of the Career and Life Readiness indicators below.

Career Readiness Indicators
Achieve a 90% attendance rate for at least 2 years from grades 6 to 8
Participate in 1 or more organized extracurricular activities per year

Life Readiness Indicators
Complete 15 hours of community service from grades 6 to 8
Earn a C or higher in P.E. in grades 6 to 8
Meet grade-level social emotional learning (SEL) competency targets
Meet expectations in 5 or the 8 "Portrait of a Graduate" dispositions by the end of 8th grade: Effective Communication Culturally Aware Ethical Critical Thinking Creative Thinking Resilience Personally Responsible Active Citizenship
