Greetings and welcome to the Oxford High School Choir website. I am a native of Madison, Alabama where I graduated from Bob Jones High School. After high school I continued in my family's footsteps and received a Bachelors of Music Education from Auburn University (War Eagle!), where I studied with with Dr. William Powell, Dr. Sarah Lynn Baird, and Dr. Jane Keuhne.

After graduating from Auburn I moved here to Oxford to start my graduate work at the University of Mississippi. In May of 2014 I completed my Masters of Music in Choral Conducting, summe cum laude, where I studied with Dr. Donald Trott and Dr. Debra Spurgeon. While at Ole Miss I conducted the Women's Ensemble, Men's Glee, University Chorus, and Concert Singers. I was blessed to be able to conduct the Concert Singers in the White House in December of 2012 and on our 2014 European tour in Leipzig, Berlin, Prague, and Vienna. I also received the Choral Excellence Award from the choral music department in April of 2014.

I am the artistic director of the Oxford Civic Chorus, which meets in the choir room at OHS on Monday nights from 7:00-8:30.  Come sing with us!

I am a member of the American Choral Directors Association, American Guild of Organists, National Association for Music Education, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia national fraternity for men of music, and Pi Kappa Lamba the national academic honor society for students and teachers of music.

My amazing wife Hannah is the choral director at Lafayette Middle School and High School, and she is your 2019-2020 Mississippi Teacher of the Year!  We both sing in the the choir and are members of St. Peter's Episcopal Church here in Oxford.
