    Dr. Hurdle is a native of Oxford and Lafayette County and a graduate of Lafayette High School and the University of Mississippi. He earned a B.A. in Recreation, a M.A. in Educational Leadership, and an Ed.D in Educational Leadership from The University of Mississippi and has served in education since 2004.

    Dr. Hurdle taught Construction Technology for 7 years and served as an assistant principal and principal at Independence High School before coming to Oxford in 2013 to serve as the founding principal of Oxford Intermediate School. In 2019 he became the first Director of Career and Technical Education for the Oxford School District and is now proud to lead the newly formed Department of College and Career Readiness. He is the proud husband of the 2017 OSD employee of the year, Lynndy (now retired) and the proud dad of a 2020 member of the Lady Charger basketball team, Ella Beth (9th grade).

    “As a former CTE instructor, I have seen first hand how transformational it can be for a student to find his or her path and pursue that interest as part of their post-secondary education. We’ve seen first hand during the COVID pandemic that many of the “essential” workers are those in skills-based fields that are part of CTE programming.”
