iPad Troubleshooting
Use the following information to assist in general iPads tips and maintenance.

Clear Safari Website Data
If you are experiencing Safari issues and cannot access certain websites, please complete the following.
1. Close all websites in Safari (all of the tabs)2. Close all of the apps3. Clear Safari’s Cache:A. Click Settings on iPadB. Scroll and Find SafariC. Scroll down to AdvancedD. Website DataE. Let it populate then remove all website data.F. Shut down iPad4. Restart the iPad -
Restart iPad
Follow these simple steps to restart your iPad:

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button (along the top right).

When the red slider appears, slide it to turn off the iPad and then wait a few seconds.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
HARD RESTART:If your iPad is still frozen, misbehaves, or doesn’t start, press and hold the Home button for 6 to 10 seconds to force any frozen applications to quit.

Cannot Search Internet While At Home (Proxy Authentication)
If a student is unable to search the internet and access outside school websites, complete the following steps.

Textbook — Block Pop-Up (Disable)
Digital textbooks need to have “Block Pop-ups” disabled.
How:
- Click “Settings” on iPad
- Scroll and find Safari on the left
- Scroll under the “General” section and disable “Block Pop-ups” (make it gray)

Annotations (Mark-Ups)
We have asked students to download PDF Cabinet or One Note as their annotations (mark up) tool for iPads from Self-Service.
If your students are using one or both of these apps and the mark-ups are NOT visible, have the student to try one of the following changes:
- Use a different color font (other than black)
- Change their display from Dark mode to light mode. (dark mode alters the font colors.)

Lockdown Browser not working in Schoology
Students in grades 5th-12th have access to Schoology as their Learning Management System. A teacher has the ability to lock down a test preventing students from going to the Internet to search for answers or use other apps not allowed.
If LockDown is not accessible, complete the following steps from the attached PDF.
Students also may need to clear the browsing data from Safari.
