Students participating in OSD Online are expected to follow the Oxford School District Attendance Policy. Elementary student attendance will be verified by assignment submissions in math and ELA. Secondary student attendance will be verified by assignment submissions in all courses. Attendance will be verified by the teacher at the end of each week.
If a student accumulates five unexcused absences he or she will be reported to the Lafayette County Truancy Officer.
Delivery of Elementary Instruction
Elementary teachers will utilize SeeSaw and Zoom to deliver instruction. SeeSaw will be used to house instructional videos, student activities, assignments, and teacher feedback. Zoom will be used as the video conferencing tool to deliver instruction as well and conduct student check-ins from teachers and support service personnel. Elementary students will be given the opportunity to join class live for up to 40 minutes of instruction per content area daily if requested. Joining a classroom live is not mandated or recommended for long lengths of time.
Delivery of Secondary Instruction
Secondary teachers will utilize Schoology and Schoology Conference to deliver instruction. Schoology will be used to house instructional videos, student activities, assignments, and teacher feedback. Schoology Conference will be used as the video conferencing tool to deliver instruction as well and conduct student check-ins from teachers and support service personnel. Students may join class live if requested; however, it is not mandated nor recommended for long lengths of time.
Grading for students participating in OSD Online will follow the Oxford School District Grading System. Parents will have the ability to track student performance using the learning management system (Elementary - SeeSaw & Secondary - Schoology) as well as PowerSchool. All summative exams will be proctored at the students’ respective schools. Students are expected to sign up for an exam time and to be punctual for their appointments.
Elementary students in grades PreK-4 may email email@example.com for technical support regarding district-issued devices. When contacting support, be sure to include in your email the barcode number on the back of the device as well as contact information such as your name and a phone number.
