Math Pathways
The flowcharts below illustrate the order in which math courses may be taken. If you have any questions, please contact your school’s guidance office.
Math Pathways for Grades 6-9

Text Alternative for Math Pathways Grades 6-9
Oxford School District Math Pathways for Grades 6-9
Students will follow one of the following three pathways:
- Pathway A: In 6th Grade, students will take Accelerated Math 6. In 7th Grade, students will take Math 7. In 8th Grade, students will take Math 8. In 9th Grade, students will take Foundations of Algebra.
- Pathway B: In 6th Grade, students will take Accelerated Math 6. In 7th Grade, students will take Math 7. In 8th Grade, students will take Math 8. In 9th Grade, students will take Algebra 1.
- Pathway C: In 6th Grade, students will take Accelerated Math 6. In 7th Grade, students will take Compacted Math 7. In 8th Grade, students will take Compacted Math 8 / Algebra 1. In 9th Grade, students will take Geometry.
Note – Credit-bearing courses for High School G.P.A. are:
- Compacted Math 7
- Math 8
- Compacted Math 8 / Algebra 1

Text Alternative for Math Pathways Grades 9-12
Oxford School District Math Pathways Grades 9-12
Students will continue on one of the following three pathways:
- Pathway A: In 9th Grade, students will take Foundations of Algebra. In 10th Grade, students will take Algebra 1. In 11th Grade, students will take Geometry. In 12th Grade, students will take either Algebra 2 or an Additional Higher Level Math Course.
- Pathway B: In 9th Grade, students will take Algebra 1. In 10th Grade, students will take Geometry. In 11th Grade, students will take Algebra 2. In 12th Grade, students will take a Higher Level Math Course.
- Pathway C: In 9th Grade, students will take Geometry. In 10th Grade, students will take Algebra 2. In 11th Grade, students will take a Higher Level Math Course. In 12th Grade, students will take another Higher Level Math Course.

- Advanced Technical Math (students must complete C.T.E. program)
- College Essentials for Math
- S.R.E.B. Math
- Advanced Placement (A.P.):
- A.P. Precalculus
- A.P. Statistics
- A.P. Calculus A B
- A.P. Calculus B C
- Dual Enrollment (available to Juniors and Seniors only – students must have a minimum score of 19 on the Math ACT):
- College Algebra
- College Trigonometry
