Dr. Hannah G. Ardrey
Hannah Gadd Ardrey is in her tenth year of teaching choral music, where she spent eight years of her career at Lafayette High School and Lafayette Middle School and is in her second year at Oxford Middle School. In her fourth year of teaching, Ardrey was named the Lafayette High School Teacher of the Year, the Lafayette County School District Teacher of the Year, and the 2019-2020 Mississippi Teacher of the Year. In 2021, she received the NEA Foundation’s California Casualty Award for Teaching Excellence and was a quarterfinalist for the 2021 Grammy Music Educator Award.
She teaches many exciting courses: OMS Boys' Choir, OMS Girls' Choir, Piano I, and Piano 2. Ardrey is a proud National Board Certified Teacher and Advocacy Co-Chair for the Mississippi Music Educators Association (MMEA) board. She is a member of the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA) and recently served as a Mississippi Teach Plus Policy Fellow. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering as an advisor for the MS Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi at Ole Miss, a role she's proudly fulfilled since 2016. Ardrey received a Bachelor of Music in vocal music education (2013) and a Master of Music in choral conducting (2015) from the University of Mississippi. She graduated with her Ed.S. in Educational Leadership (2021) and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership (2024) from William Carey University. Dr. Ardrey loves getting to be an Oxford Charger alongside her husband Thomas, the Oxford High School Choir director. When they aren't taking students to competitions or coordinating concerts, they enjoy playing fetch with Norman, their 3-year-old German Shepherd. Most especially, the duo welcomed their first child, a son named Smith, on November 24, 2022. He is the most precious little boy with an infectious laugh and sublime dance moves. He is the center of their world!
