Pumpkin Projects ~ Book Characters

  • The Library is hosting a Book Character Pumpkin Project.  Students 'dress up' a pumpkin to look like their favorite book character! (Photo gallery from last year is below)

    Guidelines:

__ I may use a real pumpkin or the paper pumpkin below (If I use a real pumpkin, I may use any media to decorate my pumpkin. Paint, fur, string, fabric...the sky is the limit!  HOWEVER, NO CARVED PUMPKINS) (If I use the paper pumpkin, I may use any media to decorate the pumpkin. Colors, markers, sequins, glitter...the sky is the limit!)

__ I should decorate my pumpkin as a book character from any Fiction book I have read.

__ I can have help.  Have fun working together on this project!

__ If I use a real pumpkin, I will complete the information on the paper pumpkin and bring the page with my real pumpkin.  I can also bring my personal book for display, if I want.

Tips: - If painting real pumpkins, painting a layer of seal or varnish on first is optional, but can help the paint stick.  Acrylic paints work best on real pumpkin skin.

PROJECT DUE DATE: October 23 (Students should bring their projects to the library by 7:45 am)

PROJECTS GO HOME: October 31 (Projects left behind will be thrown away by 4:00 pm)

There will not be a library grade or prize for participating.  Participation is optional.  This is just an opportunity for your child to share their love for books and reading!
