Ms. Amanda Osborne

Thanks for visiting the Oxford High School Library Information page.  I am Amanda Osborne, your friendly OHS Librarian.  My interests include reading (shocker!); swimming (new workout crush), watching sprots, especially football, and baseball; cooking &  eating; and most importantly spending time with family & friends.  I have 2 school age daughters, Annelise (12) and Ivy Scott (8), and a pawsome one-eyed dog, Cap-n-Jack!

I have 17 years of service as a MS public school educator!  I taught English in grades 7-12 for thirteen years in Central and North MS before becoming certified as a Library/Media Specialist. Prior to coming to OHS, I served as Librarian for the students in grades 5-8 in Pontotoc City Schools.

Currently, I am working on my Ed.S. degree in Secondary Education with an English emphasis at The University of Mississippi.  I expect to graduate in May 2019.  After I graduate, I will either continue work on my (abandoned) Ph.D. in Secondary Ed. or  pursue my Masters in Library Science degree .  I'm currently researching the pros and cons of both degree routes!  I welcome your input into which side of the fence boasts the greenest grass!

In my sixth year as librarian, I can honestly say I LOVE MY SCHOOL LIBRARY!  I love my patrons and the wonderful OHS & L.O.U. community.   This year, the library acquired a 3D printer thanks to a generous grant from the Oxford School District Foundation.  I look forward to see the great things the OHS community can do with it!

Feel free to email me  Stop by the library if you are on campus or schedule a class visit.  We are open 7:15-4:15 M-F!
