Our Schools
Oxford School District, in Oxford, Mississippi, is made up of 7 schools that serve PreK-12th grades. Our district serves 4800+ students which classifies us as a 7A district in the state of Mississippi.
Repeatedly ranked an “A” school district by the Mississippi Department of Education, the Oxford School District is one of top school districts in the state. The district is made up of 76 National Board Certified Teachers.
Our school campuses receive strong community support as evidenced by a recently successful school bond referenda and by very effective parent-teacher associations, band boosters, and athletic boosters who provide funds for playground equipment, instructional materials, and extracurricular activities.

Oxford Early Childhood Center

- Breakfast & Student Drop-Off: 7:00 a.m. to 7:40 a.m.
- Classes: 7:40 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Oxford Early Childhood Center serves pre-K students. The school uses a school family model to provide a strong educational foundation in a safe, inclusive setting that encourages optimal development for all students. The school strives to develop a true partnership with parents through making meaningful connections and providing multiple opportunities to be actively engaged and connected to what students do at school. All students receive quality instruction based on the Mississippi Early Learning Standards. The school’s goals are focused around student learning, safety, and the overall development of children, including social-emotional health. The staff at Oxford Early Childhood Center is committed to providing a positive first experience to children’s educational journey that will set them up for success as they navigate becoming builders of the future.

Bramlett Elementary School serves Kindergarten and 1st-grade students. The school’s mission is empowering all students to become confident and creative builders of the future. All students participate in music, art, physical education, and learning time in the library. Each classroom has Promethean boards and each student has an iPad for the students to use daily. The school has 30 staff members who have advanced degrees and 10 who are National Board Certified.

Della Davidson Elementary School is a National Blue Ribbon School serving second- and third-grade students. The school offers a warm, inviting atmosphere where students receive the support they need for success. Every student participates in art, music, P.E., computer science, and library. Gifted classes, special education services, English learner classes, and tier interventions are provided for students who meet requirements. The teachers and administrators at Della Davidson Elementary School are excited to work with families to ensure every student reaches his/her potential while developing a life-long love of learning.

Central Elementary serves fourth- and fifth-graders. The school’s mission is to teach and inspire, reach and transform, every student, every year. Central Elementary teachers and staff help each child grow academically and socially. Thirty Central Elementary School teachers hold advanced degrees and 12 are National Board Certified.

Oxford Intermediate School serves sixth-grade students. Our vision is to be a bold, innovative, and continually improving school; understanding today to prepare students for tomorrow. Our mission is to empower all students to become confident and creative builders of the future. Students may participate in Art, Advanced Art, Band, Music, Chorus, Cyber Foundations, and After-School Intramural Sports. At Oxford Intermediate School, we value excellence, equity, service, support, and relationships.

Oxford Middle School serves seventh- and eighth-grade students in the Oxford School District. The school’s goal is to provide a caring, stimulating learning environment where students are challenged with rigorous standards. School officials are committed to their responsibility of fostering learning through meaningful instruction within a balanced and interactive curriculum. Ultimately, teachers and staff want students to have a strong academic foundation and the ability to apply knowledge to think critically and communicate effectively. Middle school students may participate in art, choral music, strings, computer literacy, theatre, STEM, health, physical education, strength and conditioning, journalism, and band. There are 12 sports programs available to students. The school has 23 teachers with advanced degrees and four are National Board Certified.

Oxford High School serves students in grades 9 through 12. The school’s mission is to promote academic excellence by providing a safe and supportive environment and by teaching students to make independent decisions. During the 2015-2016 school year, Oxford High School became the first school in Mississippi to achieve the prestigious LEED certification: the high school was awarded the LEED® Silver certification under the LEED for Schools Rating System established by the U.S. Green Building Council® (USGBC®) and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). LEED certification identifies Oxford High School as a showcase example of sustainable design and demonstrates the district’s leadership in transforming the building industry.
The high school offers 21 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and four foreign languages to its students. The high school journalism program and the Oxford Charger student newspaper are considered among the best in the nation. Oxford High School students participate in award-winning programs such as the school’s theater department, visual arts program, a strings program, and band and chorus programs. Oxford High School has 44 teachers with advanced degrees and eight who are National Board Certified.
Oxford High School offers 21 Class 5A sports teams and is known nationally as a high-performing athletic program. The Chargers received the MHSAA 5A All-State Sports Award for the 2015-2016 school year and earned six state championships titles in the following sports: boys’ powerlifting, boys’ track and field, girls’ soccer, girls’ track and field, tennis, and baseball. In addition to athletics, the Chargers are home to two award-winning spirit squads: cheerleading and a dance team.
