• Certification Awards

    Students can attain the following certifications*, with each level increasing in order of difficulty upon attainment. Students can certify for Ready Reader, Rising Reader and Super Reader five times. Independent Reader can only be obtained one time. Students can certify for Advanced Reader and Star Reader two times. When students earn the Certification Award, students will receive a award certificate for each level and a collectible backpack button of their choice. Certificates and buttons will be given to students during their library special class.

    1. Ready Reader Award(1-5):
      Students accumulate 5 points by passing quizzes at 60% or higher.
    2. Independent Reader Award:
      Students accumulate 10 points by passing quizzes at 60% or higher. They must read at least 3 books at 1.2 or higher book level.
    3. Rising Reader Award(1-5):
      Students accumulate 10 points by passing quizzes at 60% or highter. They must read at least 3 books at 1.6 or higher book level.
    4. Super Reader Award (1-5):
      Students must pass quizzes at 60% or higher on 3 books that are at a 2.0 book level or higher. Each of the 3 books must be worth 1 point or more.
    5. Advanced Reader Award(1-2):
      Students must pass quizzes at 60% or higheron 3 books that are at a 3.0 book level or higher. Each of the 3 books must be worth 2 points or more.
    6. Star Reader Award(1-2):
      Students must pass quizzes at 60% or higher on 3 books that are at a 4.0 book level or higher. Each of the 3 books must be worth 4 points. or more
    7. Classic Reader Award:
      Students must pass quizzes at 60% or higher on 3 books that are at a 6.0 book level or higher. Each of the 3 books must be worth 7 points or more.

    NOTE: Quizzes with only 3 questions do not count toward Certifications.
