• Oxford High School PTO

The Oxford High School (OHS) Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) needs you! The PTO is a vital part of the school community, and our members and activities are crucial to the success of our students.

Important ways our PTO committees help each year thanks to the generous donations from OHS PTO parents:

    • Social Event Support

We support our Student Council and OHS administration with volunteers and food as needed for social activities throughout the year. This includes dances, homecoming court, and senior celebrations.
    • Prom

We co-sponsor the Junior/Senior Prom. PTO decorates, coordinates location, food, and other details with the OHS administration.
Junior parents assist the school by donating a specified amount to help with food needed for Prom, as well as provide volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up.
    • Support as Needed by Administration

We support many school events such as Homecoming, The Breast Cancer Walk, Winter Formal, Prom, and the Senior Picnic with needed volunteers and/or donations of money and food.
    • Say Yes to the Dress

We assist with collecting and storing gently used dresses to then host a special event for girls to pick out that perfect dress for Prom.
    • Gifts and Funding

We give Christmas gifts to the teachers, cafeteria and custodial staff every year, sponsor a student from the Charger Christmas Tree, and Award three $500 scholarships in the spring to eligible graduating OHS seniors.
    • Clothes Closet

We maintain a special closet with extra clothing for students as needed.
    • Donuts and Decisions

We support our counseling department with this event dedicated to celebrating the next chapter for our Seniors.
    • Teacher Appreciation

We provide support to the staff in any way we can, including regular Teacher and Staff Appreciation meals and snacks throughout the year. Sign ups are sent quarterly to request donated food or drink items and volunteer time for set-up or clean-up.
    • Senior Celebration (Senior Parents)

We provide food, drinks, and fun for the Seniors at the beginning and end of the school year. Sign ups are sent to request monetary donations, food, or drink donations and volunteer time to help facilitate this event.

All of this is staffed and funded by our dedicated PTO volunteers.

The PTO does not want to compete with the many organizations that need to raise money at OHS, therefore our annual Check It Chargers campaign each fall is an important source of funds for all of the work we do throughout the year. The OHS Parent Teacher Organization is not part of any national organization, so every dollar we collect is spent on OHS students and staff.

Please take this opportunity to get involved in your child’s high school experience and volunteer your time or talent. If you would like to become a member, you can download the Membership and Volunteer Form, fill it out, and mail it in or drop it off at the OHS front office. Hard copies of the forms with envelopes are available for your convenience at the front desk as well. No fee is required to join the PTO, but any donation is appreciated and tax-deductible.
