2016 Oxford Baseball

Oxford Baseball
  • The Oxford High School Baseball Program has a great history. The Charger Baseball team collected four 4A district titles in the nineties and added the fourth title this decade by winning the district title in 2009. The Chargers have added four 5A division titles in 2011, 2013, 2015, and most recently 2016.  The Oxford Baseball program also won its first state championship in 2005 after losing in its only other trip to the state finals in 1993. In 2011, the Chargers fell one game short of another state championship appearance after losing to Ridgeland in Game Three of the North-Half finals. In 2013, the Chargers advanced to the third round of the MHSAA 5A State Playoffs where they were defeated in three games by the Hernando Tigers.  The 2014 team once again reached the finals of the North Half falling to eventual state champion New Hope in two games.  The 2015 Chargers posted the best season in school history winning 35 games and finishing in the top 10 in the nation and #1 in Mississippi.  The 2016 Chargers posted a 28-8 record and won the 2016 5A state championship. The 2017 Chargers hope to continue the great tradition of the Oxford High School Baseball program.
